Charlene Laidley, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the FutureProof Foundation has been named one of "30 Change Makers to Watch in 2018" by the Ambassadors of London Tech Week.  Her nomination comes from some of the most influential names on London's Tech scene which include Eileen Burbidge, a partner at Passion Capital and member of the Prime Minster's Business Advisory Group, Sarah Wood, co-founder and chief executive of video advertising marketplace Unruly, founder of business group Tech London Advocates Russ Shaw and president of industry body TechUK Jacqueline de Rojas.

Charlene's nomination as a Change Maker is in recognition of her unique story and leadership in closing the gender pay gap, her commitment to developing technology that will 'futureproof' the lives of over 2 million women by 2030, and her work and contributions to inspiring the next generation and driving economic growth. These accomplishments also saw Charlene winning the 2018 London Stock Exchange International Women’s Day Award earlier this year.

As a Change Maker, Charlene will be a central part of this year's London Tech Week. As well as being featured as part of a nationwide media campaign, Charlene will have her story showcased as part of this year's festival.

“London Tech Week celebrates the companies and people driving innovation in the digital economy to shape the future of businesses, lives, and society the world over," said Zoe Osmond, festival director of London Tech Week.

"The change-makers show the vast impact that has already been made, harnessing technology to build exceptional businesses, campaigning for change, and strengthening the capital’s position as a global tech hub."

Charlene Laidley, founder and Chief Executive of the FutureProof Foundation, said: "As a Change Maker for gender equality in the UK working to close the gender and ethnicity gender pay gap it is an honour to have our work recognised and be included amongst this list of luminous individuals. We see technology as a fundamental tool for creating a better world and driving social change.  We are very excited by London Tech Week's plans for this year, and we look forward to making our mark on the celebrations."

London Tech Week and its anchor event, TechXLR8 is Europe's largest technology festival, bringing together over 55, 000 attendees to over 300 events across the city of London between 11th-15th June.

This year, London Tech Week will bring together influential leaders from across the technology ecosystem, from founders to investors, startups to corporates, to champion the companies and people that challenge the status quo and embrace technology to shape the future.
